What happens when destiny meets talent? Christopher Macchio's remarkable journey from a shy teenager hiding his voice to becoming "America's Tenor" exemplifies how embracing your gifts can transform your life in extraordinary ways.

At just 13, Macchio discovered he could mimic different vocal styles while listening to the Godfather Part III soundtrack. Yet fear kept this talent hidden until a perceptive high school choir director recognized his exceptional gift during a private audition. Even then, stage fright followed Macchio to music conservatory, where classmates remained unaware of his abilities until final exams revealed his stunning voice.

The pivotal moment in Macchio's career came through a last-minute opportunity when Elton John canceled a New Year's Eve performance at Mar-a-Lago. With less than 24 hours' notice, Macchio flew to Palm Beach and captivated Donald Trump and a thousand guests, leading to an invitation to perform at Rod Stewart's 70th birthday celebration the following week.

Born in Iran, Shohreh Aghdashloo left everything she loved in the pursuit of a better life—her country, home, and family, during Iran’s Islamic Revolution in the late 70s. She had a goal, packed her bags, and drove her car on a journey that would take her across Europe, leading eventually to the stages of Hollywood, where she has worked on some of the most coveted projects in entertainment. 

Her unique voice is immediately recognizable, as is her work, with highlights that include House of Sand and Fog (2003), 24 (2005), The Expanse (2015-2022), and many more. She’s the first Iranian woman to be Oscar-nominated and to win an Emmy award, and such, Shohreh represents the potential that global talent can bring to the film industry, serving as a role model for Iranians and all talented voices underrepresented in Hollywood.

David R. Stokes loves American history. And theology. He poured his creative juices into both areas by writing compelling stories and inspirational books. His fictional novels got him published by Random House, with a few of his books climbing the best seller charts.  David first began working in radio with his own national XM satellite radio talk show and has been a frequent guest host for talk shows across the country. Over the years, he has interviewed hundreds of political leaders, authors, media personalities, historians, and business leaders. 

As an ordained minister, he had in his congregation some prominent figures of Washington- that became the source for many of his great characters from his books “Camelot’s Cousin” and “Apparent Danger.”  His work got the attention of actors like Blair Underwood, who will be producing one of his books together with Little Studio Films. This episode is not about me. Though many of you know, I have cats.  My podcast guest is filmmaker Garrett Clancy, who directed a wonderful new documentary currently in release, CRAZY CAT LADY.

It is said that documentaries are the new “cool” in visual storytelling, and this one is certainly a compelling one. A winner of multiple festivals and awards, it showcases a varied group of animal lovers who TSP (trap, spay, neuter) feral cats around Los Angeles and their personal journeys.

And you won’t see ladies in rollers. These animal lovers include college professors, young students, CPAs, veterinarians who offer pro-bono services, philanthropists, and well-meaning "cat collectors" -- AKA hoarders AKA "Crazy Cat Ladies" (and gentlemen).

Keith Mitchell is a star athlete and yogi, a former NFL player who played for the New Orleans Saints. He also was the NFL's highest draft player at the time but then he suffered a spinal injury that put an end to his football career and his life trajectory changed dramatically.
