Episode 14 - The Matt Damon Movie Draft with Stetson, Renny and Kent

It's Wedding Time!!
Not mine - but *Matt Damon* made time during his very busy Wedding week to record a movie draft podcast. How did I decide to reward him? With a super lengthy podcast! I
t is true I am normally a bit tighter with my edits, but I left in some of the good stuff on this one (and still cut well over an hour and a half of content).
You might also notice a new name on the title as Stetson stepped in and stepped up! With minimal time to prep he showed that all he needs is a chair and a microphone - and he is good to go.
So if you have the attention span to listen in one sitting - I suggest you do so! If not, feel free to cut this pod in half and listen as you like. Either way, you won't be sorry. Perhaps while you do, you can raise a glass to the newlyweds as you listen to us honouring Kent (and Matt Damon) with some Casamigos in our hands and love in our hearts.

Episode 13 - The Martin Scorsese Draft with Kent, Chad & Renny

After a brief pause, the four of us found time to meet up for another movie draft. This time, it was online (except Chad and Kent who managed to be in the same room and heckled Renny and I for the bulk of the podcast), it was concerning a director and not an actor AND most importantly, it was a while since we had all caught up. So if you want to hear our surprise when we realise that all of our picks were solid as he has such a great library, or you want to hear us hide our excitement of seeing each other using veiled insults, feel free to pull up a chair and join in on the fun. Episode 12 - Kelley McKenna and the Madness

It being the March wonderful time of the year, we are welcoming athlete, coach, fan, athletic administrator and all around great person, Kelley McKenna to share her thoughts on all things Madness. In just under an hour we discuss both upcoming Madness tourneys, the state of Women's collegiate (and some professional) sport and of course, what it takes to win a March Madness Pool. Unexpectedly my dogs make a rare cameo in the background, but that didn't derail our conversation as we look at the importance of sport for everyone while enjoying a few choice beverages. As we say in this pod, regardless of if you're a fan of Madness or not - there is something for everyone, so feel free to grab a drink and enjoy. Cheers!

Episode 11 - Alec Fest & the Nolan Mount Rushmore

Recorded a while back, but just in time for the Oscars we have Christopher Nolan's Mount Rushmore - or at least what Alec Fest and I think it might look like. If you are a relative fan and are at least interested in the works of Nolan over the years, perhaps you might agree with my takes on the type of filmmaker he is and why it's important that he is having a career moment. Or, if you were borderline obsessed with Oppenheimer and are fine with the rest of his work, perhaps you might enjoy Alec's takes as he breaks apart what made the movie so special, while also mentioning Cillian Murphy's name about as often as he could. Either way, this pod has something for everyone, so feel free to crack a drink and tune in as we try to figure out the most important four movies of Nolan's career, while getting endlessly sidetracked.

Episode 10 - Alec Fest and the 2024 Movie Prediction Draft

A new year means a new made up game to try and turn just about everything into a competition - even watching/tracking movies of the year. Joining me is Alec Fest, a current University student who also has an interest in movies of the year (or at least enough of one to keep him engaged in a competition). With embarrassing teeshirts on the line, we aim to draft moves before they appear in major theatres to see if we can spot the commercial and critical successes of the year before they happen. Not only will this take some knowhow, but it will also test our research methods to see which of our sources might have taken us down the correct path. Well - that and luck. Lots of luck. Episode 9 - The Brad Pitt Movie Draft with Renny, Chad and Kent

Completing our initial trilogy of movie drafts, we finally got to the source of our inspiration in drafting Brad Pitt movies. Feel free to grab a drink and tune in as I constantly have to defend Pitt as a serious actor while the rest of the crew are only occasionally in agreement. While I feel I may have won them over in the end, it doesn't mean that it became clear early and often that they were all not just drafting for themselves, but trying to keep my personal favourites from me. Episode 8 - The Tom Cruise Movie Draft with Kent, Chad and Renny

As promised, Round 2 in our series of Movie Drafts brings us back faster than ever before. Much like our chosen star, we ran through editing as fast as possible in order to bring this pod to you as soon as we could. In this episode Kent, Chad, Renny and I draft the movies of Tom Cruise as we discuss the state of action movies and how you can like someone's body of work, without perhaps being their biggest fan. This time, the rules were more concrete, so we celebrated with what we were told was a sipping tequila. Some of us listened to those instructions more effectively than others which made for a great time. Episode 7 - The Harrison Ford Movie Draft with Renny, Chad and Kent

After long last - we are back with a new episode. This time we shook the format up a little bit by having three guests and a gimmick draft. Renny, Chad, Kent and I all draft the movies of Harrison Ford and then vote on who captured his career or our interest the most. It's early days in this kind of draft, so there was a bit of a argument about rules - but aside from that we tried to stay as chill as Ford himself.... and failed. Regardless, it was great to get the group together for the first of what will be several movie drafts. Episode 6: Kent R Part II

We are back and "enjoying" our drinks even more than before. In Part II we pick up where we left off and start to consider the choices we have made that have gotten us here. And by here, I mean sitting across from each other while still enjoying the Kenyan locally brewed 254 beer selection. Our conversation does tend to stray at times, but never too far (thanks to considerable editing). However we do start to make more movie references and question why we assume teenagers today would have any more of a clue than we did when we were that age.
