A lifelong fan of stand-up comedy who got hooked on live performance when her womb-mate first got on stage at 18, Rachel started working in the corporate world in project management, working and living in London, Munich, Melbourne and Singapore before going back to her first love: Comedy. That led to her settling in Los Angeles in 2018, before producing podcasts. The pandemic saw her start running the "Nowhere Comedy Club," the first virtual club to bring live stand-up to your living room. She also produced and co-hosted a virtual show that raised almost $100K for comedians that were out of work.

In 2020 she transitioned into talent management, now alongside Jessica and Tasha. Her primary focus are comedic actors, writers, and performers. Her clients are on Netflix, Comedy Central, Hulu, Adult Swim, Hartbeat, and can be heard on Sirius/XM.

Dubbed “Queen of the Scratch World” by DJ Times, DJ Shortee is recognized as one of the most diverse and technically skilled female DJs in the world. Rolling Stone distinguishes her among the “fader-flipping elite,” which helps explain why she is the only female DJ featured in the critically-acclaimed documentary Scratch. Starting her career in the 1990s, she can spin everything from Drum and Bass, Glitch Hop, Moombahton, Trap, House, Dubstep, Drumstep, Techno, Breaks, Rock, Funk, Hip Hop, Top40 and the catch-all known as ‘Open-Format’.

Her fast-paced mixing style, expert scratching skills and energetic stage presence has made her one of the most in demand DJs touring in North America, South America, Central America, Europe, Asia, Africa, and the Middle East. She was also the first female Fever-Buzz Battle of the DJs Champion in 1997 and the first female PowerMixer ever to rock the airwaves of LA’s #1 Hip Hop Station, Power 106 FM, circa 2006. Once described by The Denver Post as possessing “Low-key intensity and dead on humor,” Billy has been a steady presence in the world of stand-up comedy since 1991.

His long litany of credits include performances at the prestigious 'Just for Laughs' Comedy Festival, Def Comedy Jam, The Bob & Tom Show, Last Comic Standing, Comedy Central and The Late, Late Show with Craig Ferguson just to name a few. His humor and musical ability has led to him working with many entertainers, including spending 3 years traveling as "The Queen of Soul" Aretha Franklin as her opening act.

He has also written and directed 14 plays, 2 award winning short films and in 2020 he created “Tales of the Virus”, an urban story about a pandemic driven zombie apocalypse podcast. Most recently, Billy wrote and produced the satirical romp, Trump Is Gone, a political anthem that has generated over 5 million views worldwide.

A Tight 45 with Tabari McCoy - Episode 080 – Former NFL Linebacker Reggie Williams

On the field, Reggie Williams was an ever-present force of nature, proudly wearing no. 57 for 14 seasons as a member of Tabari's hometown Cincinnati Bengals. And now, the renaissance man that is the former NFL player/politician/businessman/author is the featured guest on the 80th episode of A Tight 45 with Tabari McCoy!

A native of Flint, MI, Williams was the Bengals third-round draft pick in 1976 out of Darmouth University, the same college where he was awarded an academic scholarship. Eventually graduating with his degree in an A.B. in psychology (after also winning an Ivy League wrestling championship), he would become a force on the gridiron for the Bengals, where he would play in both Super Bowl XVI (1981) – he led the Bengals defense with a team-high 11 sacks and second most tackles with 106 – and XXIII (1988) .

Football wouldn't be the only place Williams would make his mark, however, as he would go on to be appointed to and win re-election of a seat on Cincinnati City Council in the late 1980s. This is in addition to the two year span that saw him win the Byron "Whizzer" White Award for Humanitarian Service (1985), NFL Man of the Year (1986) and Sports Illustrated's Co-Sportsmen of the Year (1987). After retiring from football, he would go on to work as the director of sports development for Disney - yes, THAT Disney – helping to develop the World Wide of Sports complex that is still thriving today.

Smith is the curator of the "SI King Collection," the 20,000+ autographed issues of Sports Illustrated in his home (yes, Tabari knows where, but he's not telling in case any of you have criminal leanings)! Smith has traveled the world working on his collection over the past 40 years, meeting countless athletes, politicians and celebrities along the way.

The 2018 winner of ‘Breakin Thru’ stand up competition, she also runs the popular regularly-sold-out ‘The Big Fizz’ show at Notting Hill’s Little Yellow Door when back across the pond in London.

Whilst in Chicago she is a regular at all major comedy venues: Laugh Factory, Zanies, Comedy Bar and Second City. At The Laugh Factory she was a semi-finalist in their ‘Verified Laughs’ competition and is a regular on their Saturday Night ’Chicago’s Best Stand-Up’ show. She has opened for major US comics such as Theo Von and has performed at the prestigious New York Comedy Club and The Stand as well as The Creek and The Cave, Go Bananas (where she and Tabari first met) and The Virgil in Los Angeles. She also has performed at several festivals across the US in Cleveland, Iowa City, Madison and Milwaukee in Wisconsin and Raleigh, North Carolina.

As an actress, Hatty is best known for playing Princess Maribel in the E! Entertainment Network 's first scripted drama "The Royals" and for originating the role of Minty in Jennifer Saunders’s ‘Viva Forever!’ in London’s West End.

Getting his first job as a store P.A. announcer in his teens, Morton has spent 35+ years entertaining audiences worldwide opening for the likes of Celine Dion, Harry Connick, Jr. and Luther Vandross among others. If you said the singing telegram, you'd be correct – but if you happen to be in the market for one, Jen Forti, owner and operator of Bellgram Telegrams of Portland, Ore. is standing by at your service!

A woman of many talents and entrepreneurial ventures including various bands, performances and even a t-shirt company, Forti's origins with Bellagrams date back to 2018 as a simple side hustle. Eventually, the business grew to the point where it is now her main line of work, perfect for a self-starter who wanted to be her own boss and still exercise her performance genes. This is why she calls Bellagrams the culmination of all her previous work, which includes stints in the acts the March Fourth Marching Band and The Tangled Threads among others.

Now, she is living her proverbial best life, working as an entrepreneur and fitness enthusiast whose Superbodies by Nat is set to expand in a major way, continuing the work she's done as a celebrity fitness trainer for years. Quite comfortable away from the spotlight, she finds peace in the simple things and helps others to do the same.

Mike Cronin was the emcee the night A Tight 45 with Tabari McCoy's namesake Trecorded his debut album ... Now, he's headlining clubs nationwide all on his own. Funny how time flies, isn't it – the keyword in this case being "funny," of course.

Originally from Cincinnati, Ohio (hey - that's Tabari's hometown, too!), Mike now calls Michigan home when he's not on the road performing. Self-deprecating and smart and yet somehow also not the brightest guy means well, Mike spent several years honing his craft at clubs and colleges near his hometown before relocating to Chicago, where he hosted the popular showcase, “Best Night Ever.” A performer at the inaugural Limestone Comedy Festival, he has gone on to hit stages at The Boston Comedy Festival, the 10,000 Laughs Festival and can be frequently seen opening shows for Tom Segura. He also co-wrote and co-directed the music video for “The Hipster Song” with friend Alex Stone (another Tight 45 alum), which has been viewed over 900,000 times on YouTube. His debut album Hot For Too Long is out now with a second album set to be released in 2022.

Some people can paint a pretty picture, they say ... But in Jared Kelley's case, he literally paints pictures that thousands of people collect on a weekly basis.

An illustrator who earned his Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from Auburn University in 2008, Kelley began working full-time as an illustrator in 2010 ... Only to end of leaving the art world later to support his wife and children. But a recommendation in the height of the first wave of the pandemic would change his life forever, bringing the largely self-taught trainer back to his first love: Painting portraits for what is arguably the most prominent and well-known trading card company in the world. Then again, his work as the official portrait painter for the National Trial Lawyer Association Hall of Fame, he likely won't have to go back to his previous career as a software engineer anytime soon.

On this episode (out on all major platforms on Wednesday, Jan. 12, 2022), Tabari gets acquainted with Kelley as they talk about how he got his start, the toughest part of painting portraits and the advice he would give any parent with a child that wants to pursue a career in the arts. The man behind 3,500+ articles found in outlets such as The New York Times, Los Angeles Times, Chicago Tribune, XXL and The Source, Baker is one of the most prolific journalists in hip-hop history. The former co-host of Open Bar radio with rapper/actor Xzibit on the legendary 93.5 KDAY in Los Angeles from 2014-16, he is also the co-author of 2020’s acclaimed The Gucci Mane Guide To Greatness. In addition, he is the author of the critically acclaimed 2018 book The History Of Gangster Rap.

He also authored 2006’s The Music Library: The History of Rap and Hip-Hop and 2011’s I'm The White Guy - The Tech N9ne Edition and I’m The White Guy - The Jay-Z Edition. Ben Katzner (@shaqkatzner on Twitter) is a comedian originally from the Midwest who now can be found all around New York City slinging jokes. Luckily, that's all he's slinging – on stage at least.

For if he was the lead character in the children's book that debuted this year, let's just say things would get messy to say the least.

Ben's work can be seen in the likes of several prominence places around the Internet, including like Insider, Buzzfeed and The National Lampoon Network. Earlier this year saw him debut his graphic (pun intended in a good-natured way) novel Hello, My Name is Poop. Published by Vault Comics/Wonderbound books, the story revolves around a young African-American named Will Poupé who faces the normal problems associated with adolescence. Then he moves to a new school, runs afoul (pun intended) of some people ... And then gets blessed with a new name that comes with certain privileges ...

A comedy writer who's contributed to Life & Style magazine, he was also a featured act in Netflix’s Wild West Comedy Festival.

He was also was hand-picked by Jeff Foxworthy and Larry the Cable Guy to open for them on their critically acclaimed “We’ve Been Thinking” Tour. He has headlined the “Pink Ribbon Comedy Tour,” raising money for breast cancer research, doing 65 shows in 40 cities.

Amy Miller may be older than she looks, but she's also much funnier than she knows you think she probably is when you first see her – and that's why she's one of the best comics working today.

A native of the Bay Area now living in Los Angeles, Miller's resume is far from short on credits establishing her place in the world of stand-up. One of Comedy Central's "Up Next" comics for 2018 who gained even more national exposure on season nine of NBC's Last Comic Standing, Miller has also been seen on Viceland's Flophouse. Additionally, she was the winner of several awards during her tenure in Portland (2012-2015) and her Comedy Central Presents special has been viewed online more than 3 million times.

This is in addition to being heard on SiriusXM, NPR, the popular Doug Loves Movies podcast with host Doug Benson, The Adam Carolla Show. She also recently wrapped up her tenure on the podcast "Who's Your God?," where she and John Michael Bond would discuss religion and faith with other comedians. Her debut album Solid Gold, was named one of the top 10 comedy albums of 2016 by Interrobang.

Taylor is the creator, producer, booker and promoter of the “Little Flower Concert Series,” the monthly performance showcase she hosts at (both inside and outside) her home in Indianapolis, IN. A creative person by design (graphic design, to be precise), Taylor found a love of music at an early age and has stuck with it ever since. Now, her concert series has seen artists from as far away as California take the literal stage in her backyard and/or perform inside of her home to a steady crowd of well-wishers and supporters.

A Tight 45 with Tabari McCoy - Episode 050 – The Reinvention of J-Zone

Imagine giving a decade of your life to building a music career ... Only to find yourself hating your catalogue years later. What would you do?

If you're Jay Mumford a.k.a. J-Zone, you nearly leave the business entirely, only to come back, leave again and completely re-invent yourself. Which is exactly what he did.

And now, he couldn't be happier – and his band The Du-Rites couldn't be making funkier jams if they tried.

Beginning his musical career as a teenager interning as the famed Power Play Studios in Queens, NY in 1992, J-Zone released his first album – Music For Tu Madre – as his senior project at Purchase College (SUNY) in the late 90s. He would spend the next decade making ribald rap music that was lyrically influenced by the likes of 70s icons like Dolemite and musically by groups like Slave and the Ohio Players. His production talents (often found on his own label, Old Maid Entertainment), saw him work with a number of artists including Gnarls Barkley, the Lonely Island, E-40 and the late Biz Markie among others.

Then, in 2008, he quit.

He would return briefly between 2013-2016, releasing two more albums under his J-Zone moniker, 2013's introspective but still curmudgeonly Peter Pan Syndrome and 2016's Fish N' Grits. He would also release a book (Root for the Villain) during his hiatus detailing his musical career, in addition to teaching at his alma mater and writing for outlets such as Ego Trip and SLAM Magazine. Now, he is pursuing his true passion: Playing drums as a member of The Du-Rites, the band he started with longtime collaborator Pablo Martin in 2013.

Traci Callahan is a graduate of Concordia University, Irvine, where she was named Female Athlete of the Year (2009), the culmination of a career that saw her be recognized in 2005 as the NCAA Freshman of the Year before becoming a 1st team All-American 3 straight seasons (2006-2009). Then, in 2012, she started playing on the Association of Volleyball Professionals (AVP) tour.

Then, in 2015, she walked away ... But come four years and a life-changing trip along the Camino de Santiago (a.k.a. the Way of St. James), one of the most famous treks in the world, she returned and hasn't looked back since. Now back on the AVP tour, she is also training for the 2024 Olympics while also having a stake in Red & Louie's Pizza, a restaurant she is vested in with her husband (also a former athlete), Matthew.

Guess that explains why Kristin Key has been earning a lot of checks being funny for years.

Most recognized from NBC’s Bring the Funny and Last Comic Standing, Kristin has two-plus decades to her credit doing stand-up, a far cry from her humble origins as a preacher’s daughter who started in West Texas at the age of 19. In addition to her NBC work, SiriusXM play, and a hit Dry Bar special, Kristin has performed on a variety of TV shows/networks including VH1 and Comics Unleashed while also releasing five comedy albums (and a music comedy album). Before he ever got into stand-up comedy, J.B. Ball was just another college athlete with dreams of making it to the NBA. Given the success he's found on stage, however, it looks like he's made a slam dunk of an alternate career choice.

A native of Florida, Ball has found big success since transitioning from performing on the hardwood to in front of brick walls. While his two letter, one word response was meant as a self-deprecating, good-natured and humorous to a post about a star college athlete Twitter users expected to have a better professional career, it also shows just how far Ryan Leaf has come.

The no. 2 overall pick in the 1998 NFL Draft by the (then San Diego) Chargers, Ryan's career did not go the way those who saw him wow draft scouts in college expected. At all – and that's putting it mildly. A series of unfortunate events worth their own Lemonysnicket book followed in the wake of his fall from grace, culminating in a short stay in a place where, well ... Let's just say a certain card in the game Monopoly would have come in handy.

Despite those struggles, Ryan has persevered and become the type of individual Hollywood loves to immortalize on the big screen. In addition to running his own successful firm in RAM Consultant Inc. where he serves as the CEO and president, he is also a program ambassador for the Transcend Recovery Community. This, of course, is in addition to his contributions to the sports world, which has seen him call college football games on both ESPN2 and ESPNU as well as host the Pac-12 radio show from 7 to 10 a.m. Pacific Standard Time on Sirius XM among other pursuits.

Indianapolis-based comedian and podcaster Brent Terhune isn't what you think he is ... At least not if you're fooled into thinking his popular Internet character is the real him, that is.

Selected by Variety – yes, THAT Variety – magazine as one of "10 comics to Watch" this August and shouted out by Newsweek and Entertainment Weekly, Terhune has gone viral on more than one occasion for his character parodying MAGA supporters. But Terhune, who has also appeared on the show Laughs on Fox in addition to being a regular on The Bob & Tom Show, is no slouch when it comes to his stand-up: He recently released a new livestream special entitled What on Flat Earth? to accompany his second full-length album release, Welcome to Bluff Creek (available now on Amazon and other streaming platforms). He is also the host of "Field Trip with Brent Terhune," a podcast where he is joined by "his rotating cast of co-hosts take a weekly deep dive into a pop culture topic." Michael Malone is a Buckeye by birth; he's a very funny, talented and driven content creator, however, by his own design.

Having performed in 11 countries around the world as well as having been featured on The Bob & Tom Show, Sirius XM Radio, Fox, Funny or Die and Showtime's I'm Dying Up Here, the Ohio native is a kinetic ball of energy on stage as much as he is very thoughtful away from it. The 2012 winner of the famed Seattle International Comedy Competition, Malone's second album – 2015's Thirty One – was featured for several weeks in the "New & Noteworthy" section of iTunes en route to becoming a top 10 best-selling album on the platform.

Currently residing in Los Angeles, he was also featured on several episodes of the Fox comedy-themed game show Punchline in 2017 and also wrote, directed and co-starred in the independent film Bethlehem. His most personal work however may be Dead Serious, the book he authored after the passing of nearly 20 friends and family in a 5-year span.

She finished a 10-year stint as Director of Interactive at TVOntario and an 18-month stint as the Director of Interactive at Q Media Solutions to start her own company, Analytical Engine Interactive Inc. in her native Canada.

But if you grew up in the 1980s, you likely know Christine McGlade for an entirely different reason altogether – and if you say "I don't know" where I know that name from, you should prepare to be slimed.

A child actor who never had a desire to be one by her own admission, McGlade – nicknamed "Moose" – was the original host of You Can't Do That on Television (YCDTOT), the first kid-based sketched show on Nickelodeon. (Yes, even before All That .... Or the All That reboot currently airing on the network.) Airing on the network from 1979-1990, the show featuring a number of recurring bits including its Laff In-style locker room jokes, the firing squad, the less-than-hygienic Barth's Burgers and of course, the infamous green slime. Now working in an entirely different industry than the one that made her famous, McGlade's entrepreneurial nature has seen her use her ingenuity to make her own career path ...

She's a Girl Daddy and proud of it – then again, given all her success, her fans wouldn't have it any other way.

A native of Dayton, Ohio now living in Los Angeles, Beth Stelling cut her teeth in the competitive Chicago stand-up scene while also studying improv at The Annoyance Theater. (She did graduate magna cum laude with a Bachelor of Arts from Miami University and interned for The School at Steppenwolf in Chicago before graduation, so she's been developing her chops for quite some time.) She would go on to be named the “Best Stand-up Comedian in Chicago” by The Chicago Reader in 2010, be named a "New Face of Comedy" at the prestigious Just for Laughs Festival and re-located to Los Angeles in 2011. Within her first year in L.A., Beth made her late night TV debut on Conan and released her debut album “Sweet Beth” on Rooftop Records. Beth soon after appeared on comedy programs such as Comedy Central’s @midnight, Chelsea Lately and The Pete Holmes Show.

With a Comedy Central Half-Hour special and second album (Simply the Beth) as well as Netflix's The Standups under belt, her most recent achievement has come in the form of Girl Daddy, Beth’s first hour stand-up special “produced by Conan O’Brien and Team Coco is available now on HBOMax. And she's got plenty more in the works ...

If you grew up as a hip-hop fan in the early 1990s, you probably remember seeing videos for the classic cuts "Blue Cheese" and "One to Grow On" airing on shows like Yo! MTV Raps and Rap City (later Rap City: The Basement) on BET. The group behind those classic tracks were The UMCs, consisting of rapper/producer Haas G and Kool Kim. Their debut album, Fruits of Nature, dropped in Oct. 1991 and was followed up by their sophomore LP, the harder edged Unleashed, in 1994, peaking at #63 on the Billboard R&B charts (it would be a while before hip-hop would get its own categories).

Then the duo went their separate ways with Kool Kim retiring from the music business ... And "New York's Original International Lover (NYOIL)" emerging.

She's been a part of one of the biggest TV shows of its era, has had starring roles in several major Hollywood films and has enjoyed a successful modeling career ... But now, she's found a happy place that simply involves exploring personal pursuits and being a mom.

But make no mistake about, whatever Erika Eleniak chooses to do, she's going to do it to the best of her ability to have the best time doing it possible.

Best known to millions from her days as Shauni McClain on the show Baywatch, Eleniak has enjoyed a long career in front of the camera dating back to her days as the "Pretty Girl" (that's how she's credited on IMDb.com!) in E.T. The Extra Terrestrial. In addition to Baywatch, she has been featured on the big screen adaptation of The Beverly Hillbillies, Under Siege – and yes, she talks about "that" scene on this episode – and Bordello of Blood . Her career isn't limited to major Hollywood productions, however, as her turns in independent films such as The Opponent have proven.

Now focused on parenting her daughter Indyanna, she spends much of her time (at least pre-quarantine) teaching acting and working with teens in recovery as well as exploring spirituality, religion and more. She is a model, a former professional beach volleyball player and was Nike’s first female spokeswoman ... But nowadays, you're much more likely to catch Gabrielle Reece working on her podcast than you are hitting the sand or runway, not that she's not still doing both!

Known as "Gabby" to her close friends and husband (professional surfer Laird Hamilton), Reece won an athletic scholarship to Florida State University where she played two seasons, setting two records that still stand today, before accepting offers from the modeling world.

Turning pro, Reece competed domestically in the 1999-2000 Olympic 4 on 4 Challenge Series and the 1999-2000 FIVB Beach Volleyball World Tour with her four4-person team taking first place at the first-ever Beach Volleyball World Championships in 1997. This followed her history-making turn in 1994 when she became Nike’s first female athlete to design a shoe, and Nike’s first-ever female cross-training spokesperson.

Since leaving professional volleyball behind, Reece has gone on to become a best-selling author, TV host and guest on shows such as Good Morning America, The Today Show, the Ellen Degeneres Show and Chelsea Lately.
