As we near the end of this season, it's become clear that no show on TV quite understands its fanbase like this show - which makes it the best thing to watch right now. Then, we dive into the failure of the upcoming Grammy Awards. Is this failure new? No. But this year is especially weird. Plus, HBO Max/Warner Bros. has now announced that all their new blockbusters in 2021 will now come to streaming on the day of release, fundamentally changing the movie industry standards.

This show exists because we wanted to speak about the never-ending cycle of despair and content, and how it shapes the way we see the world. With the grand jury verdict announcement that the cops that killed Breonna Taylor would be charged not for her murder, but for endangering the people next door, it was yet another reminder of how little this country values Black life. There is no way to separate this verdict from the larger vision, whether it be of policing or the music industry (as we saw this week as well), of how our society chews up its most vulnerable people.
