We can learn so much about ourself by turning everything around us off and just breath. Taking time time to recharge does not have to cost anything.

Simple ways to recharge:

- Enjoy a spa day. If not at a spa, enjoy a long bubble bath or hot shower.

- Practice breathing while looking up at the clouds. You can enjoy the view at the  park, lake or even in your back yard.

- Take time just for your self.

- Visit quite places like the library with a cup of coffee and a great book.

1.       Helps to lower your stress level.

2.       Helps to clear your thoughts.

3.       Gets your created thoughts going.

How to get started?

1.       You can simply pick out a notebook (any shape or size). Comfortable writing pen.

2.       You can start journaling by using Google docs or Evernote.

3.       Remember, your journal is for you and you. It is your window and time to release and express what and how are feeling. 

4.       Set your schedule for journaling. Whether or not it is before bed or early morning, select a time which works best for you and stick with it. 

Reflect

1.       Each week look back over the week before. Refocus on your thoughts and feelings the week before. Add one entry at the end of each week as your reflecting time. 

Growth Takes Time

2.       Reflect on growth and opportunities for improvement and inspiring others.

We would like to focus on those making a positive difference in the present. Today we are beyond blessed to have with us not one but two legends. Joining us are Ms. Madonna Hanna and her Track Coach Chambers.

Ms. Madonna Hanna: In her first Washington State Senior Games in 2011, Hanna won gold in both the 50 meters and the 100 meters. In 2013, in her first National Senior Games, she came in 9th in the 100 meters and 11th in the 200 meters, and earned a bronze medal in the 4 x 100 relay. Madonna won gold medals in the 50 meter dash and 100 meter dash in 2021 and 2022 in the Washington State Senior Games.

Marcus Chambers (2024 USA Track Olympian)

Chambers earned All-American honors as a track and field star at the University of Oregon, propelling the team to five NCAA national titles. Chambers himself, also a resident of Tacoma, is hoping for a gold medal. He’s an Olympic-hopeful in the 400 meters and is training for the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris.
