Mary and Kevin are an ordinary Midwest couple with three kids (7, 6 and 3) living our dream life. Join us, every Monday, as we share our weekly life review in an effort to share and examine our most authentic selves. Through this review, we hope you will hear the good, the bad and the ugly moments of self-discovery on our growth journey. Listen while we succeed and fail, rest and motivate, think and rethink. We hope this podcast is a living example of what self-actualization looks like in the everyday. Above all, we hope to grow together. Welcome to the Growth Minded Marriage.

Needless to say, I was very intrigued. I knew from Kevin that Adam has a contrarian perspective, but I had never heard someone say to NOT follow your passion. Of course I had to listen. After 3 years of searching, worrying and dreaming, I have found my own understanding of what it means to have "work life balance" or a "dream job". Kevin has figured out his magic formula over the past 3 years as well. We both agree with Adam's take on why your dream job should not be solely based on feeling passionate every day. Kevin and I know that our dream jobs are tools to allow for a life where we can follow our curiosity; free from the notion that they have to make us money. Kerri Gray is a mother of 4 and a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist who has spent the bulk of her career teaching positive parenting classes to families in the greater Kansas City area. Now, due to the pandemic, her classes have been moved online and made accessible to everyone. She works in conjunction with a non profit organization in the Kansas City area called, Lee's Summit CARES. I found Kerri after hearing that Lee's Summit CARES offers positive parenting classes near our home. They referred me on to Kerri and she graciously accepted our request to be interviewed.
