As Bible-believing Christians we should all desire a faith community that is as inclusive as possible. After all, we all understand that if Jesus could accept me then there is no reason to believe He couldn't accept everyone else. However, even with how fundamental inclusivity is to the Gospel message it has been tough to achieve in the everyday experience of the believer's life. This lack of inclusivity has led many well-intentioned believers down a lot of different paths and approaches to achieve an inclusive experience within the American church. Ep.75 - When there is a Revival at Ashbury University

American Christianity has been captivated by what has been called a revival at Ashbury University, a small Christian college in Kentucky. Plenty of Christian ministers and commentators have jumped in to help us all determine if this non-stop worship service is an authentic act of the Holy Spirit or a phony work of Satan. In this episode, we will refrain from adding our voice to the endless amounts of scrutiny being levied and instead have a conversation about worship music as a whole. The current activity of this Ashbury Revival is primarily singing so we will take a look at a worship song in the book of Psalms and compare it to current trends in modern American worship music. The goal is not to create a report card for the songs that we sing, but instead to have tools to tune our own hearts for the substance the Bible prioritizes when we sing. Enjoy!!

Ep.74 - When Christians Can't Get Along Pt.2

In this episode, Kirk has a great conversation with Pastor Zach Lambert of Restore Austin. Restore Austin is a church that intentionally provides a safe community for all people including those from openly LGBTQ+ lifestyles. Zach's convictions push him into the feared "Progressive" zone of Christian Twitter, where he openly shares his beliefs and how they shape the ministry of Restore Austin. Kirk and Zach dive into the progressive v. conversation debate and specifically LGBTQ+ questions and how Restore attempts to remain biblically faithful while wholeheartedly affirming those from typically denounced lifestyles in the Christian faith. Ep.65 - When Illegal Immigrants are Flown to Martha's Vineyard

The charter flight heard around the world! Florida Governor Ron Desantis took full command of the news cycle last week when he chartered a flight to send 50 illegal immigrants to the upper-class elite island of Martha's Vineyard. Those on the left call it a political stunt that endangered the lives of real people for political gain while people on the right called it a necessary public relations strategy to put a spotlight on the crisis at the southern border. Evangelical leaders also weighed in claiming their preferred perspective was on the moral side of God's heart based on their understanding of scripture. In this episode, we will take a close look at one of the clearest passages in scripture that sheds light on God's heart for the foreigner and then decide for ourselves which side is on God's side when it comes to immigration. The world was instantly divided into two camps all pretty much depending on how you viewed Jada's offense to the off-color joke. Shaq reminds us that mental fortitude does tend to get lost when so much credence is given to society's mental health struggles. So far, the people of God have a zero percent accuracy rate when it comes to our predictions of the pending doom of the planet. But, we keep them coming. It's not a surprise that a global pandemic has brought a myriad of new prophetic predictions highlighted most notably of the belief that the COVID vaccine is the mark of the beast Jesus spoke of in Revelation. In this episode, we use the Christian eschatological fetish as an opportunity to venture into the book of Revelation and set you up with the basic tools needed to avoid being swept up in the chaos. On January 16th, Pastor John MacArthur made a call to all Christian pastors in the United States to stand with our Canadian Christian brothers and sisters who will be subjected to a new law banning "Conversion Therapy" and making it punishable by 5 years of prison. MacArthur called on pastors to peacefully protest the new law by preaching biblical sexuality from the pulpit on Sunday the 16th. This particular issue brings Christian faith and LGBTQ+ activism into the spotlight yet again.
