27 people died this week trying to cross the English Channel from France to England.  The British Government showed little sympathy, and blamed France for not doing more to stop the refugees from making a perilous crossing.

Peter Sutcliffe has died. In the late 1970's through 1980  he was the Yorkshire Ripper - killing 13 women and attempting to murder 7 more.    And taunting police to catch him.  Or so it seemed.

The Former Canadian Ambassador to Afghanistan Chris Alexander tells Back Story Host Dana Lewis, there is no point in talking to The Taliban.  The only way to peace are sanctions on Pakistan which directs the violence. 

While Afghan Ambassador to The UK,  Said Tayeb Jawad, says The Afghan Government has to talk to The Taliban, but the violence has to stop, and The Taliban has to cut ties with Al Qaeda.  So far it has not.  And in the meantime U.S. Forces should remain in Afghanistan so it  doesn't return to what it was in 9-11, a launch pad for terrorism.

Nearly 500 former National Security Officials sign a letter, saying President Trump is unfit for office. 

Trump has told militia's to "stand-by" but failed to denounce them.   He has threatened not to allow a peaceful transition of power in November. Critics claim he is someone who may be one of the largest dangers to American Democracy and the rule of law, ever to have been in The White House.

The dispute goes back decades. Azerbaijan and Armenia are fighting over a disputed region called Nagorno-Karabakh and the conflict now threatens to pit Russia against Turkey.

America has ceded some of its influence as a super power under the Trump Administration.

Over the next few months, the simmering tensions between China and Taiwan could develop into a full fledged armed conflict.  China, say experts, could invade Taiwan during the American election and subsequent inauguration, as it is stirred by new weapons sales from The Trump Administration and official visits to Taiwan by American Diplomats.

More than 7000 people in Belarus arrested in the few days of violent protests after The Presidential election.   President Lukashenko has derailed democracy in Belarus pulling off an election fraud that's so obvious his Country can't swallow it.

Belarus, a former Soviet Country of 10 million has had a pretend democracy since the fall of The Soviet Union.  Since 1994 Aleksander Lukashenko has been President.  He's stifled free and fair elections and jailed opponents.  Until now. 

Svetlana Tikhanovskaya, a housewife, and mother of two, whose husband ran for President and was jailed, decided to standup and call for real democracy.   She appears to have won the elections, say but was denied victory by Lukashenko who is using the police to arrest and suppress a Belarus Spring.

In July 80 journalists quit the last independent media platform in Hungary because they knew they could not report freely anymore.

QAnon -  is a bizarre far right conspiracy theory detailing a supposed secret plot by an alleged deep state against U.S. President Donald Trump. 

A murder has been carried out by a purported follower of Q.   The ramming of a truck into the gates of the Canadian P.M.'s residence was by a man who reportedly followed QAnon.  There are now multiple people seeking congressional election who are Q followers.

And yes, QAnon features on The FBI's list of dangerous cults. It is wide spread across social media with 'Q drops' tempting conspiracy minded recruits with tidbits of disinformation including that The Covid 19 virus was created by Democrats.

Warning! 239 scientists from 32 Countries have written a joint letter to the World Health Organization saying they have it wrong.   That guidance on Covid19's spread is wrong. The W.H.O. says the virus is spread by heavy droplets emitted by a cough or sneeze and quickly fall to the floor or ground.
